It tells a haunting tale of friendship spanning cultures and continents, following one man’s journey to confront his past and find redemption. The Kite Runner is one of the most banned books and as of 2024, the book has been banned from libraries at schools in Florida, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and Wisconsin. In February 2025, the United States Department of Defense flagged the book for temporary removal from Pentagon-run schools.
