Travel through the country, enjoying its history and majestic beauty, via some of America’s finest landscape paintings. This lecture explores the way in which American landscape painting helped establish a national identity, while also providing commentary on the relationship between nature and humanity. Marvel at the works of Thomas Cole, Frederic Edwin Church, and Albert Bierstadt, and others, as we celebrate our nation’s history and natural beauty.
Mallory Mortillaro is an art historian and educator. As a researcher, she consults for private collectors, museums, and organizations in the New York metropolitan area, with a primary focus on provenance research. Her discoveries in the art world have garnered her international attention. A popular lecturer, she has presented more than 400 art history lectures to audiences around the country. She studied at Drew University.
